LIFE Nature & Biodiversity projects

Finland has received a total of 48 million euros European Union LIFE Nature & Biodiversity funding for 53 nature conservation and biodiversity projects over the period 1995–2011.

The ongoing Finnish LIFE Nature & Biodiversity projects are:

• NATNET - Increasing the ecological connections and coherence of the Natura 2000 network in South-west Lapland (LIFE10 NAT/FI/000047)
• Species-rich LIFE - Improving the Conservation Status of Species-rich Habitats (LIFE10 NAT/FI/000048)
• FINMARINET - Inventories and planning for the marine Natura 2000 network in Finland (LIFE07 NAT/FIN/000151)
• Kokemäenjoki-LIFE - From Ancient to the Present Estuary, Kokemäenjoki Wetland Chain (LIFE06 NAT/FIN/000129)
