Management and land-use plans

During the project, a management and land-use plan for each of the sites will be prepared, the aim of which will be to control the management and land-use of the area in order to protect the features of its natural environment. In the management and land-use plan, the aims of nature conservation, recreational use and the use of the area will be linked together. Among other things, the area's management needs and methods, as well as the needs and opportunities for the development of service facilities, will be assessed in the plan. The plan will cover a period of about 10 years.

Participatory planning will be undertaken, which means that landowners and users of the area will have the opportunity to take part in the planning. A planning group will be set up, and it is hoped that different interest groups will choose their representatives for the group. The interest groups will consist of landowners and different user groups, such as fishing clubs, nature activity organisations, hunting clubs and possibly village associations. During the planning period community meetings will also be arranged.
